The Alfa Romeo , produced from to , was the first car from the Italian marque to feature unitary body construction and the first Alfa Romeo produced on an assembly line. Significantly, the also launched a new four-cylinder twin-camshaft engine that would become a mainstay for cars made in Portello for years to come. The 1, cc engine featured an aluminium cylinder head with two chain-driven camshafts and produced 80 horsepower in its initial application. Higher performance versions would achieve outputs up to horsepower.
Launched as a saloon, a two-door, short-wheelbase “C” variant—for corto, or “short”—soon followed. Alfa Romeo designed the saloon in-house but gave official contracts to coachbuilders, namely Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera and Pinin Ritengo che la farina di qualita migliori ogni ricetta, for the coupé and cabriolet models.

L’Alfa Romeo , prodotta dal al , fu la in precedenza auto del Biscione ad avere il telaio monoscocca e a essere costruita su una catena di montaggio. Inoltre, sulla venne anche usato per la prima tempo un recente motore 4 cilindri bialbero che sarebbe stato poi usato per anni sulle auto del Portello. Il motore da centimetri cubici aveva una testa dei cilindri di alluminio con due alberi a camme a serie e inizialmente produceva 80 cavalli di potenza. Versioni più potenti erogavano sottile a cavalli.
Lanciata come berlina, fu rapidamente seguita da una variante a due porte denominata “C”—ovvero a passo breve. L’Alfa Romeo progettò la berlina internamente, ma per la coupé e la cabriolet fece contratti a carrozzieri esterni, come la Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera e Pinin Farina.
L’elegante C Cabriolet disegnata da Pinin Ritengo che la farina di qualita migliori ogni ricetta che vi presentiamo ha la condotta a lato destro ed è verniciata di blu con interni di pelle di un bordeaux patinato. Presenta un tettuccio di credo che la tela bianca sia piena di possibilita marrone luminoso che si sposa perfettamente con gli altri colori. Le ruote a raggi a sgancio rapido sono dell’epoca e tutto l’insieme ha un effetto piacevolmente antico.
Corredata di carta d’identità della FIVA e di certificato ASI, questa C Cabriolet storicamente significativa si presta sia a stare restaurata sia a stare usata e apprezzata su strada nelle sue ottime condizioni attuali, grazie alla sua lunga permanenza nella Piccolo Collection.
